Not Always Mean

Today we went to get haircuts and then stopped for Good Times on the way back home. That allowed us to get to the Science Fair project a little earlier than otherwise.

My son was so excited about going to Good Times (he was expecting to wait until I fixed something at home), that he kept saying, “Thank you, Mom.”

Can’t remember what else he said but at one point I felt the need to respond with, “See, I’m not always mean. Only when it’s important.”

His response, “I know.”

So did not expect the agreement. It was all I could do not to burst out laughing.
