Yikes

I've been reading through Proverbs in preparation for a lesson I've been asked to teach. Here's a verse that jumped out at me tonight:

Proverbs 17:12 - Let a man meet a bear robbed of her cubs, rather than a fool in his folly.

Ok, seriously, if it is better to deal with that angry, cranky mama bear whose cubs are MIA than to interact with a man who is not seeking the things of God (which is clearly the definition of a "foolish man" after reading the previous 16 chapters), then interacting with the foolish man is a terrifying thing.

Yikes.

Maybe that image should somehow motivate us to seek wisdom... 'Cause, truthfully, I'm not up for interacting with mama bear.
