We are working through the transition time period and my son is staying over at the condo more frequently. The tentative plan is that he will move in the evening of February 12. We chose that weekend because Monday & Tuesday are days off from school so he will have a little extra time to get adjusted. I'm taking that whole week off in order to be able to get transition-related items addressed while he is in school.
He's already got his room set up from a furniture perspective so now he just needs to move all of his non-furniture items over.
The move is going to require adjustments in schedule for both of us. He will continue to attend his current school, which is about half an hour from the condo, through the end of the school year. So, he will need to get to sleep earlier than current and be up and ready to go earlier than current. I have been adjusting my schedule to be up and working earlier than before. Most days, this will allow me to take a break when he gets up to get him to school. Then I'm off to the office for the rest of my work day.
