Hard things bring emotional responses. Emotion is, unfortunately, not always truthful.
Earlier this week I found myself telling someone that all the hard things were because of my foot and the resulting uncertainty of my immediate future. Rationally, analytically, logically, that is a patently false statement.
Some things are certainly impacted by it but the foot is not the cause of everything... and, in fact, there are certain things not even impacted by the portion of bone that is missing.
It helps to remember the practice of Philippians 4:8. Think about things that are excellent and praise worthy.
Or, as this lyricist says it, remember who handles the storm. It's particularly (emotionally) satisfying to crank up the bass a little.
