When I have to confront someone and I have time to think about it, I end up completely stressed with all the symptoms of going in to a job interview. Afterwards, my emotional response to the situation is fairly overwhelming, insecure, "they won't like me now" reaction.
Today I got to learn that I have the same response when having to confront my child on something. Ugh. This means that when I'm grumpy because of conflict stress, I will have to be more diligent than ever in controlling my actions and attitude in interacting with other people.
I see required "quiet time" in my future.
"Therefore, as God's people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience...And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Colossians 3:12,14
