I grew up on southern cooking and cornbread was a staple. When I tried this cornbread recipe (in my cast iron skillet), it was total comfort food.
I have a savory recipe that calls for cornbread and for that recipe, I leave out the honey.
I have forgotten to let the egg and dairy get to room temperature before. I basically ended up adding additional buttermilk/yogurt until it was the right consistency. That required a little longer baking. Haven't tried the sour cream option but I have subbed in regular cow's milk. I have not tried a non-dairy milk in this recipe yet.
